I was born in Bremen (DE) 1954. Since my childhood my dream was to become an architect. So I graduated at the University in Stuttgart (DE) and worked many years as an architect and urban planner at home and abroad.
At present I am living with my husband and our three cats in Leiden (NL). 15 years ago we moved from the United States to the Netherlands We planned to furnish our typical dutch house in our own, very personal style. Maybe you are familiar with this problem too ... all the furnishings you really desire are either not available or beyond your financial means. From that point on I decided to design and to make our very own furniture by myself. Over the years my work got quite popular and I started to work on commission. During our one-year-stay in California (2004 - '05) I also started successfully to design and sew snake-bags and -pillowslips.
My products are highly imaginative, playful, colorful and very original. They are an expression of my personality as influenced by my impressions imprinted on me abroad ... especially so in the South West of the United States. There I was deeply touched and inspired by the native art forming a unforgettable unity with the natural scenery.
I like to work closely with my costumers. They are invited to express their ideas and desires about the product they would like to order. I will use this input to compose alternative designs for further discussions. When the customer has made up her/his mind, I will manufacture the product by hand ... also in close contact with the customer.
Some of my designs were exhibited in the "Geheimtip" in Bielefeld (DE) and in the "Fach-Galerie" in Fischerhude (DE).
